Opportunity Description
We are actively recruiting a Client Accounts Assistant with experience to join our Rural Client Accounting Team in our Shrewsbury office. The main purpose of the role is to assist with handling the accounts of Carter Jonas’ rural portfolio of clients, which includes both rental estates and agricultural businesses.
MAIN TASKS:
Paying supplier invoices on behalf of our property landlords; the software package used is TBS TRAMPS
Weekly BACS runs
Reconciling supplier statements
Bank reconciliations
Posting ad-hoc sales income and receipts
Remitting client funds and preparing supporting statements
Dealing with internal and external stakeholder ad-hoc queries arising
Client payrolls
Working closely with other Carter Jonas offices in a professional and friendly manner
Gaining an understanding of the RICS regulations in respect of client accounting
Carrying out all administrative and ad hoc duties in connection with the role
Ensuring systems are updated on a timely and accurate basis to enable other departments within the organisation to manage effectively
Having knowledge of VAT in respect of general accounting and in respect of land and property
Supporting other members of the client accounting team and providing cover in periods of absence of other team members
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION
The ability to work both supervised and unsupervised and make decisions in an effective manner
The ability to manage others and build strong working relationships
Sound interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate accounts issues to non-accounting people
A professional manner with the ability to provide excellent customer service
Excellent attention to detail
Good IT and presentational skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
