About the Role:
We are looking for a graduate to join our award-winning Planning team in London and take the next steps in their career through a Planning Apprenticeship.
This is a fantastic opportunity to continue your studies at postgraduate level, working towards full Chartered membership of the RTPI at the same time as experiencing the practical application of your knowledge in employment.

The role includes contributing to a range of private and public sector projects in the fields of planning and environmental policy, including plan preparation, assessment and evidence gathering as well as development management and site-specific planning advice. Examples of the type of tasks this role would involve are:
Planning policy research and evaluation;
Assessment of proposed development sites, including site history research;
Preparation of materials to support planning applications (e.g. Planning Statements and Design & Access Statements);
Activities associated with producing sound planning policies and robust Local Plan evidence documents (including stakeholder consultation and engagement);
Research into a broad range of topic areas including climate change adaptation and mitigation and management of natural resources including Green and Blue Infrastructure;
Strategic Environmental Assessment and Habitats Regulations Assessment of Local Planning documents (including Local Plans, Neighbourhood Plans, Minerals & Waste Plans, Local Flood Risk Management Strategies, Forestry Strategies); and
Health Impact Assessment and Equalities Impact Assessment of Local Planning documents.

The role includes the opportunity to share and participate actively in the management and ownership of the business through the Employee Ownership Trust, which places full ownership of the company with the employees.
This will be a full time role based on approximately 30 hours per week on planning projects at LUC and the equivalent of one day per week undertaking external training through a Level 7 Chartered Town Planner apprenticeship with London South Bank University. We have adopted a hybrid working arrangement, offering a blend of office-based (Waterloo, London) and home-based working.

We are seeking an enthusiastic person who is keen to learn and assist with a range of projects.
In order to meet the entry requirements for the MA course you will need:
A minimum 2:2 degree, or equivalent, in an appropriate subject area, such as built environment and social science subjects. Applicants with a non-cognate degree and several years’ relevant work experience may be offered a place, if they can demonstrate a suitable level of specialist subject knowledge.
Five GCSEs A-C including Maths and English, or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above).
You must have good organisational skills with the ability to manage tasks and time, using your initiative.
